What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your worker account: name, username, email, phone, and password.
- The contacts you own: their numbers, names, and any details you recorded.
- Your activity: calls, WhatsApp and SMS follow-ups, notes, stage changes, and prayer logs.
- Your preferences and push-notification token.
Deleting your account in the app also clears the copy of your data on that phone. On any other device you were signed in on, deleting the app removes what it stored.
This can't be undone. Deletion is permanent. If your outreach data belongs to a shared team or organization, check with your leader first, they may want to keep the follow-up history before you remove it.
Option 1: Delete it yourself in the app
You can delete your account and everything attached to it inside 2028, whenever you want, no email needed.
- Open Settings and choose Delete data & account.
- Choose Delete my account.
- Type the confirmation phrase shown. Your account, contacts, and follow-up history are permanently deleted straight away, and you are signed out.
One rule for leaders: if you lead a group that still has members, the app asks you to move them to another group (or hand the group over) before your account can be deleted, so nobody is left without a leader.
Option 2: Ask us to delete it for you
We are happy to delete your account on your behalf, just ask.
- Email 2028-privacy@benlottejnr.org from the email address on your account.
- Use the subject line "Delete my account".
- So we can confirm it's really you, send it from your account email. We may ask one more question to verify ownership.
- We'll confirm by reply once your account and data are deleted.
How long it takes
- In-app deletion is immediate: your account and its data are removed the moment you confirm.
- For email requests, we aim to acknowledge within 7 days.
- Your account and personal data are deleted within 30 days of a verified email request.
- Backups roll off on their normal cycle shortly after; deleted data is not restored from them.
- We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, and anything we're legally required to retain, but not your contacts or activity.
Just want to stop, not delete?
If you'd rather keep your data but stop notifications, turn off reminders in Settings. To take a break without deleting, simply sign out. Your data stays until you ask us to remove it.
