DMCA & Copyright Policy

We respect intellectual property and expect our users to do the same. Here's how to report infringement or respond to a report. Effective July 13, 2026.

Overview

2028 is a private follow-up tool: most of what's stored is contact records and activity that users create for their own outreach, not public content. Even so, if you believe material stored or shared through 2028 infringes your copyright, you can send us a takedown notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and comparable laws, and we will respond.

Reporting copyright infringement

Send a written notice to our designated agent at 2028-dmca@benlottejnr.org with the subject line "DMCA Notice". To be valid, your notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (such as an account, a screenshot, or a description) for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact details: name, address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What we do with a valid notice

  • We review the notice and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material.
  • We make a reasonable effort to notify the user who provided the material.
  • We may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.

Filing a counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to 2028-dmca@benlottejnr.org including:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live (or, if outside the U.S., that you consent to the jurisdiction of a U.S. federal court), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action seeking to keep it down.

Repeat infringers

It is our policy to disable or terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers.

False claims

Under the DMCA, knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can expose you to liability for damages. Please make sure your claim is genuine before you send it.
